Privacy Policy

The short version

You upload selfies; we analyze them with AI and store them on our own servers so you can track your scores over time. We never sell your photos or data, never share them with third parties for their own use, and never use them to train AI models. You can permanently delete all of your photos and scan data at any time from Settings.

What we collect

Account data: your name, email address and profile image from Google or Apple sign-in.

Photos: the selfies you upload for scanning. These are stored on servers we operate. Uploaded photos are re-encoded on arrival, which strips embedded metadata such as GPS location.

Scan results: the scores, analysis and improvement plan the AI produces from your photos.

Usage data: basic first-party analytics about how the product is used (pages viewed, scans run, subscription events) and IP addresses for abuse prevention. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

Payment data: payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

Face data, specifically

Facial analysis happens only when you actively upload a photo and request a scan. The analysis produces numeric scores and text observations; we do not build biometric templates for identifying you elsewhere, and we do not use facial recognition to match you against other people or databases.

Your photos are sent to an AI inference provider solely to produce your scan results, under agreements that prohibit the provider from retaining or training on them.

By uploading a photo you confirm it is a photo of you (not someone else), and you consent to this processing. Do not upload photos of other people.

Where your data lives and how long

Photos are stored on our own servers (not public cloud object storage) and are only ever served back to your signed-in account. Scan results live in our database. Both are retained until you delete them or your account.

Settings → Delete my face data permanently removes every photo and every scan result immediately. Billing records are retained as required for tax and accounting law.

Sharing

We share data only with the processors needed to run the service: our hosting provider, our database provider, our AI inference provider (photos, transiently, for your scan only) and Stripe (billing). RankMyFace and MatchMaxing are operated by the same company and share one account system; signing in on either product uses the same underlying account.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

Your rights

You can access your data (it's all visible in the product), delete your photos and scans (Settings), and cancel your subscription (Settings → Manage billing). For account deletion or any other privacy request, contact us and we'll handle it promptly.

If you are in the EU/UK, the legal bases we rely on are consent (facial analysis) and contract (providing the service you signed up for). You may lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

Age

RankMyFace is for adults. You must be 18 or older to use the service; scans that appear to depict minors are refused and not stored as results.
